The Plainview Pirates boys golf team competed at the Pierce and Hartington-Newcastle Invites this past week, where they competed against dozens of local golfers from across the area.

For their most recent invite, the Pirates traveled to Pierce on Saturday, May 3 for the Pierce Bluejay Invite.

At the Pierce Invite, the Plainview golfers competed in a field of over 60 golfers and 13 total teams.

While the Pirates fought hard against the large field, unfortunately they left home empty handed as the team finished with a score of 365, which earned them eighth place overall.

Leading the way for the Pirates in their eighth-place finish was Zach Frahm, who finished the day with an 89 to place 22nd. Frahm was the lone Pirate to break 90 at the competition.

Prior to the Pierce Invite, the Pirates took on an even larger field of competition at the Hartington-Newcastle Invite on Tuesday, April 29.

In Hartington, the Pirates battled in a field of 68 golfers from 15 teams.

Unfortunately, the Hartington-Newcastle Invite ended in similar fashion for the Pirates, as they finished with a 382 to earn tenth place as a team.

Leading the way for the Pirates this go-around was Colt Kromarek, who placed 35th with a 93.
