On Friday, May 16th, Gothenburg Public Schools played host to the 2025 Nebraska Championship Meet, an annual event that allows the best of junior high track and field to compete against each other.
The top 24 boys and girls all-class in each individual event plus the top 16 relay teams were invited to compete based off the official 2025 posted results.
The junior high Pirates were represented by Pressley Alexander in both the 100m and 200m hurdles. In the 100m she ran a time of 16.90 beating her personal best time of 17 by a tenth of a second and taking tenth place in the event. In the 200m she ran a time of 31.01 which earned her 17th place in the field of 24 competitors.
Lincoln Forbes also qualified for the event in the 100m, 400m, and long jump as well as Colby Martin in the 100m hurdles but both were unable to attend.
