Wakefield dropped a pair of conference regular season games then went 1-1 in pool play at the Lewis & Clark Conference Volleyball Tournament.

On October 13, the Lady Trojans did win a set over Ponca, which eventually won the conference tournament, but fell 21-25, 15-25, 25-20 and 18-25 in the best-of-five-set-match.

“We’ve come a long way throughout this season,” Wakefield coach Brittany Eisenmann said. “There have been plenty of ups and downs, but

the team continues to push forward and work hard. We face each day with the determination

to get better as a team.”

On October 15, the Lady Trojans traveled to Allen to take on Tri-County Northeast in Lewis & Clark action.

Wakefield battled to the end but eventually fell, 25-23, 18-25, 15-25 and 17-25.

“The Lady Trojans showed up determined to compete,” Eisenmann said. “We saw a team that was fighting for every single point throughout the entire game, a team that was working as one. Although we didn’t come away with the win, I am very happy with how our team performed.”

The Lady Trojans made their way into the L&C Conference Tournament over the past weekend and split games in pool play only to be aced out to advance in the tournament by a tiebreaker.

Wakefield defeated Creighton in pool play to begin the tournament then fell to Hartington-Newcastle to end up in the consolation bracket.
