Former Crofton-based band “Night Shift” gathered with friends and relatives at The Boat House in Yankton to celebrate 40 years since the group went on the road with their musical talents.
Former Crofton Journal owner and editor, Kevin Henseler, caught up with the band at the “reunion” and took a few pictures of band members, recalling some of the group’s history for the Journal.
The band was made up primarily of members of the Bob and Mardi Haberer family of Crofton, including Bob, son Jay, daughters Joanie and Jill, as well as guitar player Tom Bosn.
Other musicians were part of the band at various times in its tenure, included Charlie Lacy who was at the reunion.
The reunion was held at the Boat House because Jay Habererand and Tom Bosn play with the 11$ Bills, a local band that plays every first Friday of the month there.
The former band, as well as Mike Johnson, Joanie's husband and one of country music's top steel guitar players, performed a set of songs that were staples of their past performances.
