DeBlauws gather for reunion

It was the viewing of the 1960’s movie “Woodlawn” which inspired Gil and Laurie Larsen of Bloomfield to initiate activity in the area to overcome hatred which may be present and bring Christ back into the hearts of individuals.
That activity has taken the form of monthly concerts at The Barn at God’s Country near Center, which began on Wednesday, June 30 and are expected to extend through November 2021. The full story can be found in this week's edition of the Crofton Journal.

Ed Kleinschmit and Bob Haberer of American Legion Post 128 accept a check of $100 to use toward their elevator project. The money was given to the Crofton Rescue Squad by Modern Woodmen and the squad voted to direct the funds to the legion’s project.
Crofton Rescue Squad holds EMT class...
The Crofton Rescue Squad hosted a class on Monday, June 21 with the help of some area youngsters. Emergency personnel from Crofton, Bloomfield and Creighton reviewed skills with pediatric patients in a mass casualty incident under the direction of instructor Adele Anderson.
The Crofton 18-and-under girls softball team will be hosting and playing in an 18U girls tournament in Crofton this Sunday, June 27 at the Crofton Volunteer Fields. Those on the Crofton team include, bottom row (l to r): Ellie Tramp, Brittney Tramp, Annabelle Poppe, Pamela Dennis, Leila Barta, Summer Guenther, Jenna Wiebelhaus; and back row: Coach Tony Guenther, Lauren Buschkamp, Rebecca Leader, Brianna Berger, Jenna Jackson, Caitlyn Guenther, Emily Guenther, Kaylee Mauch, Cameryn Fiscus, Rori Schmidt, Megan Tramp, and Coach Lonnie Tramp.
A 8-and-under girls softball tournament was held in Crofton this past weekend, and the Crofton team took second-place overall. The top three were Wausa, first-place; Crofton, second; and Osmond, third-place. Those Crofton teammates participating were, front row (l to r): Joey Schurman, Summer Haberman, Alli Johnson, Paige Nohr, Cassidy Mauch, Harlow Filips; and back row: Hadley Becker, Zoey Wieseler, Chesney Foxhoven, Kenzie Wieseler, Ava Pautler, Layla Foxhoven and Coaches: Erin Foxhoven, Wendy Wieseler, and Mike Mauch.
There will be a Crofton 10-and-under girls softball tournament held in Crofton this weekend, Saturday, June 26. The bracket for the opening games is shown nearby. Games will start at 9 a.m. with teams from Crofton, Laurel, Verdigre, Wynot, Hartington and Randolph participating.

Steffen was the winner of the St. Rose CCD scholarship and Dennis was the winner of the St. Rose of Lima School scholarship.
