Two champs, Coach Boyer interviewed on KCAU TV

Three Plainview Pirates appeared on the KCAU Channel 9 television station’s “Champions Chat” this past week on February 27.

Seniors Tanner Frahm and Kyler Mosel – both state champions in their weight classes in wrestling – this year were interviewed by Noah Sacco about their state championship wins.

Sacco asked the pair how they felt about their wins and state titles, how wrestling affected them personally and their legacy in the future of Pirate grapplers.

Head Coach Dean Boyer said that the young men had earned their titles by never cutting corners. As team captains, Boyer said they never missed a weight room and performed in the classroom as well, and “do what they’re supposed to do” to become successful.

In closing, Sacco asked about the pair and their legacy, Boyer said that wrestlers like Mosel and Frahm gave a blueprint for the young wrestlers to follow to help them believe that they can be as successful.
