The 6th Annual Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot was held on June 11, 2022 at the Northeast Nebraska Shooting Association.

On Sunday, March 12, 2023, a $2,000 donation was made in Brandon’s memory to “Outdoor NE 4 All.”

The mission of Outdoor NE 4 All is to help Disabled Veterans and children, along with their families, be involved in the outdoors.  They began their efforts in 2020 and have hosted 3 doe hunts and one spring turkey hunt.  The positive responses they received have encouraged them to offer more hunts and expand to fishing experiences.

Currently the group consists of Brian Petzoldt and Mark Wieseler along with Mark’s wife, Jill.  They were previously involved with a similar program in Kansas but wanted to bring the project to Northeast Nebraska.  At this time, they are using personal equipment and will use the donated funds to purchase gear for the outings.

The group is accepting monetary donations at Citizens Bank in Laurel along with hunting and fishing gear that is safe, clean and in good working condition.  Of course, there is also a need for locations to take the veterans and children to hunt and/or fish.  Does and spring turkey hunts are the focus.

If anyone has any questions or possibly a location that could be used for this worthwhile project, please contact Brian at (402)841-1617 or Mark at (402)841-4548.

In the past six years, The Brandon Gerdes Memorial Foundation has donated over $115,000 to area programs that impact the people living in our local communities.  We want to keep our rural lifestyle strong.  Mark calendars for the 7th Annual Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot AND Golf Outing on Saturday June 10th.  Check out the Facebook page (Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot) for additional information.

Funds raised at the event have been donated to programs that assist area communities and projects that organizers feel Brandon would have supported.
