Plainview’s newest housing units are nearing completion and have started taking inquiry for rentals located on north 4th Street.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom units were recently constructed with assistance from a workforce housing grant. Development Director Susan Norris said that a with assistance of a workforce housing grant obtained through a joint collaboration of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, along with the City of Plainview, Plainview and Pierce Economic Development committees, the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District and local investor, MRS Ventures LLC, associated with Brunswick’s Meuret family – the project came to a reality.
According to the post, a $511,000 grant was received from the NDED to assist in funding the project, which will include four townhome units featuring two bed, two bath and two-car garages for each renter.
Norris said that the deadline set by the grant for project completion was in August of 2023, but that the project is hoped to be completed by early June of this year to be able to rent.
