Spencer Hille broke the Plainview School record in the high jump with a recorded 6’5.5” at Wisner.

Both the Pirate and Lady Pirate Plainview track and field teams placed second in fields of nine teams at the Neligh-Oakdale Track Invite held on April 11.

The Lady Pirates team score of 99.3333 points placed them just 10.5 points out of first place behind Elkhorn Valley, while the boys’ score of 98.5 earned them second-place.

The Pirate team also took second behind Elkhorn Valley with 98 team points, trailing the Falcons’ 159.5 team points. Third was Osmond with 83.

Abbie Kromarek brought home the most wins for the Lady Pirates overall. She placed first in the 100-meter Hurdles preliminary heat, then topped her prelim time by almost a full second to capture the first-place finish in the finals. She also had the best distances in the Long Jump and the Triple Jump.

Claire Rasmussen placed first in the High Jump and Teya Boyer had the best 300-meter Hurdles time. Peighton Arlt, Keanu Johnson, Madelynn Dougherty and Boyer then teamed for a first place time in the 4x100-meter Relay.

Spencer Hille paced the boys’ team with two top finishes. Hille ran the fastest time in the 300 Hurdles and had took the High Jump competition. Kyler Mosel had the best time in the 1,600-meter Run and another first place for Plainview.

Hille had two second place finishes at the event. The first was in the finals for the 100-meter Hurdles and the next was in the Long Jump. Kayson Maertins brought home two second place finishes in field events. He was second in the Shot Put and in the Discus. Mosel captured second place in the 800-meter Run.

Boyer had a second place time in the 200-meter Dash prelims and qualified for the finals. Her time slipped only a fraction in the main event, but that earned her a third place finish. She also placed third in the 100-meter Dash. Dougherty had a third place distance in the Triple Jump.

Jordan Mosel ran third in the 3,200-meter Run. He then ran the starting leg of the 4x800-meter Relay team consisting of Karter Lingenfelter, Tanner Frahm and Kyler Mosel. The quartet earned third place. The 4x400-meter Relay team of Tanner Frahm, Jacson King, Rece Frahm and Brodi Bruha also earned third place.

Dougherty had earned a spot in the finals of the 200 Dash, as well with her third place prelim time. She placed fourth in the finals. Dougherty also placed fourth in the 400-meter Dash.

Kromarek earned a fourth place finish in the 300 Hurdles and Arlt placed fourth in the Pole Vault competition.
Tanner Frahm had the fourth best time in the 800 Run and Jordan Mosel had the fourth place time in the 1,600 Run.

Emma Sauser qualified for the 100 Hurdles with the fifth place time. She improved her time by more than a half-second, and placed fifth in the finals, as well. Morgan Nincehelser placed fifth in the 1,600 Run. Rece Frahm had the sole fifth place finish for the boys’ team with his Triple Jump distance.

It was all about the field events for the Pirates’ sixth place finishers. Lauren Jelinek placed sixth in the High Jump, Johnson placed sixth in the Pole Vault for the girls and Rece Frahm placed sixth for the boys.
There were some very close calls in the seventh place rankings. Addie Hodson was 1/10th of a second from qualifying for the 100 Hurdles in the prelims. The same went for King in the boys’ 100 Dash prelims. Arlt actually tied for sixth place (and thus had a qualifying time) in the girls’ 100 Dash, but was deemed seventh and not permitted to run in the finals.

Earning solid seventh place finishes were Sauser in the Long Jump and Kaydence Maertins in the Shot Put competitions.

Nincehelser ran an eighth place time in the 800 Run as did Hodson in the 300 Hurdles. Hodson also placed eighth in the Long Jump. Bruha was eighth in the 400 Dash, Brett Norris was eighth in the 3,200 Run and Connor Nelson placed eighth in the Shot Put. Caden Ickler had the eighth place time in the 110-meter Hurdles prelims.

Rasmussen placed 10th in the 200 Dash prelims, Tanner Frahm was 11th in the Long Jump and nelson was 11th in the Discus. Placing 12th for the Pirates were Kaydence Maertins in the Discus and Rece Frahm in the 400 Dash.

There were four athletes to earn 14th place: Arlt in the 400 Dash; Lingenfelter in the 800 Run; King in the 200 Dash prelim; and Andrew Hallock in the Discus. Bruha placed 15th in the Long Jump and Rasmussen placed 16th in the 100 Dash prelims. Hallock also placed 19th in the Shot Put.

Other Pirate athletes were: John Leija, 20th place, 200 Dash prelims; Kenzi Doerr, 21st place, Shot Put; Leija, 22nd place, 100 Dash prelims; Zach Cahill, 23rd place, 100 Dash prelims; Doerr, 25th place, Discus; Brooke Forbes, 27th place, Discus; Jelinek, DQ, 3,200 Run; Ryans Bates, DQ, 110 Hurdles and 300 Hurdles; Lingenfelter, NT, 1,600 Run; and Ickler, NH, Pole Vault.
