The annual Plainview FFA banquet took place on Thursday, April 20th in the Pirate Auditorium at Plainview High School.
Awards were handed out, new officers were installed, and parents provided the potluck meal.
The 2023-2024 Officer Team is composed of Junior Advisor - Spencer Hille, Parliamentarian - Karter Lingenfelter, Sentinel - Brooke Rafert, Treasurer - Brendan Weber, Reporter - Corben Kment, Secretary - Abbie Kromarek, Vice President - Roni Prewitt, President - Reagan Choat.
This year the top fruit salesman went to Kaiden Eichberger.
Proficiency awards were recognized and the district winners Corben Kment, Reagan Choat, and Scott Hintz were awarded with plaques.
In district competition Abbie Kromarek was recognized as the district champion in biotech and she was also awarded a gold at state in senior public speaking.
Jay Jay Gaver was district champion in Farm business Management.
The Envirothon team won district champion.
Marlena Curtiss was awarded the Dekalb award for her leadership in the chapter.
The honorary degree was awarded to Peggy Jipp and Jason and Becky Donner.
Braedon Kment, Josie Choat, Guy Wortmann, Blake Foster, Wyatt Schroth, Aiden Hamilton, Bastion Curtiss, Dominic White, Jaeger Frahm, Colt Kromarek, and Zack Frahm were awarded their Discovery Degree.
Braedon Kment and Blake Foster were awarded the Star Discovery award. Caden Ickler, Danielle Doerr, Carter Parr, Natalee Gatz, and Makenzie Doerr were awarded the Greenhand Degree.
Mackenzie Doerr was awarded Star Greenhand. The Chapter Degree is the highest degree awarded by the chapter.
Wyatt Doerr, Corben Kment, and Karter Lingenfelter were awarded with this degree.
Chapter Star in Ag Business was awarded to Karter Lingenfelter, Star in Ag Placement was Wyatt Doerr, and Star Famer was Corben Kment.
The Chapter had eight students get their State Degrees this year: Marlena Curtiss, Tanner Frahm, Jay Jay Gaver, Brett Norris, Scott Hintz, Reagan Choat, Kaiden Eichberger, and Roni Prewitt.
