The Seventh Annual Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot was held on Saturday June 10, 2023, at The Northeast Nebraska Shooting Association.

In addition to the Annual Trap Shoot, a Golf Scramble was added to the day’s events and held at the Pierce Community Golf Course.  This included two of Brandon Gerdes’s favorite activities, shooting and golfing.  “We are grateful for all those who participated in making this another successful event,” said organizers.

The Trap Shoot competition took place in the morning and numerous raffle prizes were given away.

In the First Flight, top honors went to Garret Kuhl, with Todd Pfeil coming in second place and Lucas Osborn finishing third.

Second Flight winners were: 1st Place Trent Spieker, 2nd Place Randy Swanson, and 3rd Place Tucker Loberg.

Third Flight finished with Lane Rohrich 1st, Scott Martin 2nd, and Angela Lamp in 3rd place.
The winners of the Random Team Competition were Tyler Hoffman, Lucas Osborn, Jacob Smith, Jason Wachter, and Austin Druyor.

From the Trap Shoot Competition, the group went directly to the Two-Person Golf Scramble, which was a new event this year and brought out many teams to enjoy an afternoon of golfing. Top honors in the First Flight went to Seth and Brett Blank.  Luke Stueckrath and Brian Petzoldt came in second place and Cody Broomfield and TJ Rose placed third.  The Second Flight winners were: 1st Place Carlin Krienert and Corey Gerdes, 2nd Place Matt and Dashia Blunck, and 3rd Place Alex and Kylee Bender.

Pin prizes were awarded, and golfers also had a chance to win a 2023 Polaris Sportsman 570EPS by shooting a hole-in-one, provided by Motoplex of Norfolk. Unfortunately, there was not a winner.

“This was a fun-filled day with friendly competition, raffle prizes, and numerous silent and live auction items.  Tinker’s Catering provided concessions at both sites.  Corey and Lisa would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who participated in any way to help make the day successful.  Brandon would’ve had fun at this one!

Part of the proceeds from the day will go to Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings Backpack Program, which serves children within the Pierce and Osmond school districts who are food disadvantaged.  The backpacks provide meals on the weekends, so the kids are nourished and ready to learn again on Monday.  Many other community organizations will also receive donations.  We believe in supporting our local youth and community programs to help create a thriving future for our rural lifestyle.”

The organizers are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Eighth Annual Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot on June 8, 2024.
