Plainview Hotel

The Plainview Arts Council and Plainview Historical Society, along with the Plainview Library, are hosting a presentation on Saturday, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. featuring Darrell Norris, Emeritus Professor, Geography, SUNY College at Geneso, New York.

Norris sent a picture of the watercolor painting he had created of downtown Plainview to City Clerk Courtney Retzlaff earlier this year and plans were made for Norris to speak about his travels and study of U.S. Highway 20.

"Highway 20 and the Other America: Challenge and Endurance Along the Longest Road" will document Norris' 40 plus years of researching and traveling the longest highway in America.

There are several paintings of his many stops on display at the Plainview Library in the cozy cove for the public to view during regular business hours of the library.

Everyone is invited to attend this free presentation and visit with Norris. Refreshments will be provided by the Plainview Arts Council and Plainview Historical Society.
