Avera Creighton Hospital has announced that Heather Stacken has been named the administrator of the Avera Creighton Care Centre (ACCC), effective immediately.
“I am very proud of the work Heather has done to prepare for this role and am excited for her to expand her responsibilities on our team,” said Theresa Guenther, CEO of Avera Creighton Hospital, as well as the current administrator of the 47-bed ACCC. “She has been an integral part of our leadership team and has consistently strived to build on her skills in order to meet new challenges. Heather will be an excellent administrator.”
Stacken joined the Avera Creighton team in November 2021 as the administrative assistant to the director of Nursing at the ACCC. She was promoted in November 2023 to director of Support Services, where she oversees departments supporting patient care and facility services. She will maintain those responsibilities along with this new role.
“I'm honored to continue my work with Avera Creighton Care Centre in my new role as the administrator,” Stacken said. “I am excited to continue collaborating with our team of professional caregivers to deliver high-quality care to our residents, while supporting the staff and fostering employee engagement. I'm passionate about making a meaningful impact on the people and community we serve, as well as the incredible team I work alongside.”
Stacken earned a certificate in Long-Term Care Administration from Southeast Community College and completed a mentoring training program under the supervision of Tony Erickson, vice president of Senior Services for Avera Sacred Heart Hospital. She successfully passed the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards exam in May.
With this transition, Guenther will be able to focus more on her roles as CEO of Avera Creighton Hospital and vice president of Quality at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital.
Heather (Hansen) Stacken was a graduate with the Plainview High School Class of 1995.
