From the Fair Board

The Pioneer Farm Award is presented to families who have had continuous ownership for 100 years or more.

This award is sponsored by Ak-Sar-Ben and Nebraska Farm Bureau.

This year we are pleased to present this award to the Gerald Binger family.

240 acres in the southwest quarter of 28-4-15 in Pierce County was originally purchased by Lars P. Jensen in June, 1920 from the Sears family. The property was passed down to his son, LeRoy. In 1974 LeRoy passed a portion of the property down to grandson, Gerald Binger. Gerald inherited the remainder of the property in 2006.

Today corn, soybeans and alfalfa are grown on the land as well as a cow/calf and feedlot operation.

It is operated by Gerald, his wife, Cindy, daughter and son-in-law Christy and Deon Anderson and granddaughters, Jordyn and Jozlyn Anderson.
