To provide boaters lake access during the fall, the north boat ramps at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area’s Weigand Marina have reopened.
All Weigand ramps were scheduled to remain closed through 2026 to allow for the start of the marina upgrade project. However, the contractor hired to remove the docks and slips at the marina — stage one of the multi-year upgrade — has completed that work.
The north ramps at Weigand will remain open until the next phase of construction begins in the spring. The ramps and marina area will then close for the duration of the project.
Construction will not affect Weigand or Burbach campgrounds, lodging, the fish-cleaning station, dump station and other related amenities.
The park headquarters in the Weigand area will remain open during early phases of construction.
