There will be a benefit held for Ethan Dohmen, who is in need of a kidney transplant, to help defray medical expenses and help with the cost of dialysis.
The benefit will be held at Charlie’s (116 S Brown St) located in Pierce, Nebraska from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
He is the son of Vince and Kathy Dohmen from Pierce, and a sibling to Leslie and Haley Dohmen. He grew up in Pierce and attended Pierce High School where he participated in many school activities.
At a young age, Dohmen was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, also known as FSGS, which is a hereditary kidney disease. This has turned his and his family’s life upside down and since then his life has consisted of doctor’s appointments and attending dialysis three times per week.
He had complications with his fistula and required further surgery for that and had a port put in to help with dialysis until his fistula was functional. He is currently on the transplant list in Omaha and Sioux Falls areas and patiently waiting for a donor for a new kidney.
In his honor, his family is putting together this benefit that will consist of soups and sandwiches.
There will also be a free will offering and silent auction and everyone is welcome to attend. If anyone is unable to attend but would still like to donate, there is an account set up with Elkhorn Valley Bank in Pierce or any Elkhorn Valley Bank location. There is also a Venmo Account set up in his name.
For more information, please contact Leslie (Dohmen) Rolfes at 402-992-1598 or Haley (Dohmen) Meredov at 402-649-3836.
