Candidate filings continue to come in to the Pierce County Clerk’s office for this year’s election cycle.
The deadline for any incumbent in any office to file or re-file for their seat is February 17, and the deadline for anyone else to file for any vacant office is March 2.
A host of current county officials have filed:
County Assessor, Jean Lubke
County Attorney, Ted Lohrberg
County Clerk, Shannon Wragge
Clerk of the District Court, Vickie Prince
In the Pierce County Sheriff’s race, three candidates have thrown their names in for the Primary: incumbent Rick Eberhardt, Daniel Hallock of Plainview and Josh Bauermeister of Pierce. All three are registered Republicans, so they will appear on the Primary since the sheriff’s race is partisan.
The City of Plainview Mayor position has one candidate as of the last report – incumbent Robert Smith has filed for reelection.
One Plainview City Council member has filed again, Corrine Janovec is seeking re-election, with one other seat still open.
The Plainview Public School Board of Education has three vacancies, and incumbent Wyatt Frahm has filed for re-election. Two more seats remain.
With no challengers, the seats will proceed directly to the General Election.
