Work has quickly progressed on the Plainview Brunswick Community Fund’s reinvigoration of the downtown mural for the community.
The PBCF agreed in the last few months to hire Adam Boggs of Norfolk (with area ties through his parents, Chad & Becky (Meyer) Boggs) to repaint the mural space on the side of Keystone Bar in downtown Plainview.
With no less than 15 renovations and revisions, the Board finally decided on some things that make Plainview unique to promote on the wall, paying homage to the community’s roots in agriculture, tying in the community logo and featuring the Plainview Fire & Rescue’s antique fire truck and band shell, while including some “Nebraska” themes as well.
The PBCF Board committed it’s last two years of “interest” funding, totaling around $8,000 to go toward the mural and some local contributions helped push the effort over the top to allow Boggs’ hiring in the last month or two.
Boggs has done numerous murals around the state – most recently in Norfolk, Platte County, Wayne Chicken Days, Northern Heights Baptist in Norfolk and for Lewis and Clark Behavioral Health in Yankton.
