Valedictorian Brittani Gutz

Plainview Public Schools held the 2022 graduation ceremony last Saturday, May 14 to a room of family, friends and onlookers. Brittani Gutz, daughter of Jeff and Ann Gutz, was named the Class of 2022 valedictorian, and Heather Pendergast, daughter of Bart and Kelly Pendergast was named the Salutatorian.

Junior Leighton Medina played the processional and recessional, and Junior Marlena Curtiss sang the National Anthem.

Dr. Darron Arlt, superintendent, gave the welcome and some words of encouragement, and the High School Choir sang “What a Wonderful World” under the direction of Mrs. Terri Haselhorst.

Principal Kyle Schmidt and Counselor Jeremy Peter gave out the class academic achievement awards, and Peter gave out the class scholarships.

The Class of 2022 chose “Good Riddance” by Green Day as their class song, white roses dipped in red for their class flower and their class motto was “The Tassel was worth the Hassle.”

Board President Mike Sauser, joined by the administration then presented the diplomas to the 15 class members.

Along with this edition is the annual Graduation insert sponsored by a host of Plainview and area businesses congratulating the graduates on a job well done.
