The Crofton Warrior One Act performance of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” will be headed to the State Production Championship, following a District Championship in Ponca on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The State Productions will be held at the Johnny Carson Theatre in Norfolk on Thursday, Dec. 7.

The Plainview Pirates took on the Hartington Cedar Catholic Trojans in jamboree play on Monday, Nov. 27 on their home court for their first non-official basketball game of the season.
With their jamboree game out of the picture, the Pirates will set sail on their regular season with a contest at home against the Winside Wildcats on today at 7:30 p.m.

The Plainview Pirate boys and girls junior high wrestling teams hosted the Plainview Junior High Wrestling meet on Thursday, Nov. 16. With Thanksgiving breakthe Pirates got a well-deserved week off, and are scheduled to compete again on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

The Plainview One Acts team opened their season on Monday, November 13, at the Swedish Festival in Wausa.
The Pirates traveled to Randolph on Tuesday, November 14, to compete at the Lewis and Clark Conference tournament and will perform at home on Sunday, November 26 at 6:00 p.m.

The community of Plainview marked Veterans Day 2023 with a program hosted by the Plainview American Legion and its Auxiliary on Friday, Nov. 10 at Plainview High School. Legion Vice-Commander Al Tharnish gave the keynote address and a number of performances by Plainview school youth added music, the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner to the morning’s program.





Weston Hoffman, a junior at Plainview Public Schools, has made his portion of school history by auditioning and being accepted for the 2023 All-State performances...

The Plainview Pirate Music Department’s Pep Band took Championship honors on Tuesday at the Elkhorn Valley Battle of the Bands competition. The Pirates played a number of pieces for the three guest judges, and had two entries for the special competitions including highest trumpet note and most “car sounding” trombone, as well as the community fundraiser portion....
