The Plainview Social Center has their annual Angel Tree up at the Center. This tree is put up each year as a memorial tree in honor of loved ones that have passed away, or can be donated to a very special person. Each year, family members or friends donate money to the Center in honor of their loved ones. An angel is then placed on the tree at the Center in memory of those loved ones. At the end of the Christmas Season when the tree is taken down, the angel is then given to the donor. “This is a great way to remember and honor your loved ones,” said Manager Diane Elwood. “If you are wanting to donate, please bring your donations in to the Center, or send them to P.O. Box 206.”

The Plainview Health Board agreed at a recent meeting to encourage a recommended policy for all local business owners to ask patrons to wear a mask while in their business. Signs were created for business owners to hang in their establishments to encourage the recommendation, and while it is just a recommendation, the Board hopes locals will participate in wearing masks to help slow the spread of Covid-19 locally. Any business owner that might not be able to print the sign can pick one up at the City Offices if they wish to participate.
