Highway 81 work scheduled
Weather permitting, the railroad crossing on US-81 located just north of the US-20 junction will be closed beginning at 8:00 a.m. on May 27 for approximately one week to allow for replacement, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Traffic will be detoured utilizing US-20, N-121, and N-59
Highway closed near Laurel

Parks now open, Pool to be determined
The Plainview City offices closed Chilvers Park and Band Shell Park on April 2. On May 11, the parks re-opened, but at your own risk. The city is not going to sanitize the equipment. Plainview City Council members will discuss the swimming pool at the June council meeting on June 9.

Memorial Day program canceled

The Class of 2020 was featured with a special parade on Saturday evening, May 16, culminated by some fireworks at the Plainview football field with parents along the parade route and in their vehicles during the fireworks. A regular ceremony has been planned for July 11, assuming that the DHM restrictions will be lifted by then. A digital graduation ceremony was posted on the school's YouTube channel with seniors crossing the stage in caps and gowns to receive their diplomas "on time." More pictures can be found on the news social media pages.
Retiring teachers, Ranae Wacker and Jill Wagner, were both honored as Grand Marshals of the Class of 2020 parade.

The NSAA Membership voted 31 to 20 FOR adding Bowling as a sanctioned NSAA activity.
The NSAA Membership voted 28 to 23 AGAINST adding Girls Wrestling as a sanctioned NSAA activity. The NSAA Board of Directors voted 7 to 1 to add Girls Wrestling as an EMERGING sport.
