Klarissa Norris, a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, plays the piccolo in the Cornhusker Marching Band. Wrestlers win over Ord, split triangular

Manor Staff receives vaccine...
Plainview Manor and Whispering Pines Assisted Living employees began receiving their COVID-19 vaccines last week with the help of Plainview Family Pharmacist Ashley Dendinger. The staff started receiving shots on Tuesday, Jan. 5 and were expected to finish up by the end of last week.
Team rolls against Boone, Hartington

50th Anniversary: Muegge
Donald and Martha (Throener) Muegge celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 11, 2021.
They were united in marriage on January 11, 1971 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainview.
In November of 1977, they had their only daughter (who despite a wonderful upbringing, has lacked punctuality in celebrating her parents amazing milestone.)
Paula (Muegge) Folger and her family, Jason, Reed and Miles Folger, would appreciate any help honoring them with congratulations, and, if time, a card to celebrate 50 years. The family is all hopeful for a grander celebration when the current pandemic allows for gathering and travel.

The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles announced that 16 new specialty license plates will be available for purchase beginning Jan. 1. Ashburn earns 100th win...
At last week’s wrestling tournament, Plainview Pirate Scout Ashburn earned his 100th win of his career for the Pirate wrestling team. “For a wrestler to gain 100 wins this fast into the Junior year is a great accomplishment,” said Coach Chad Schumacher. “Scout has been a terrific wrestler with great technique. He is constantly looking to improve himself and through others on the team. He is following the line of many great Plainview wrestlers through the years.”

Local nurse receives COVID vaccine
For 15 years, Jamie White has worked as a charge nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. When Faith Regional Health Services was allocated the first vaccine doses, a few weeks went by before she received her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Happy Hearts Daycare new to Plainview
Hayly Daudt graduated from Plainview Public Schools in 2018. After high school, Daudt enrolled at Northeast Community College where she earned an Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Wrestling team second at EPPJ invite

FFA drive collects 70 blankets
Every Christmas, Zion Lutheran School students give to a local charity, and this year they chose to help the Plainview FFA gather blankets for the organization’s blanket drive for those in need. The school youth put together around 20 blankets, most of which were donated to the Manor residents. Plainview’s FFA officers pictured with the blankets donated by the community to give to Manor residents and school families in need this Christmas season. All in all the group collected 70 blankets from donations from the community.
